Hopes and predictions for 2006

Wonderful post for the new year, from Kathy Sierra on the Creating Passionate Users blog:

Hopes

  • More optimism: “optimism can produce positive change”
  • Less meanness: “not giving in to the kind of anger that leads to self-righteous cruelty”
  • More flow: “the condition psychologists call optimal experience”
  • More design: “aesthetics matter”
  • More learning: and “more teaching blogs”
  • Less black and white thinking: “more consideration of context and subtlety”
  • Less ego: it’s not about the author, it’s about the reader
  • More stories: “stories can change the world”

Great advice that I’ve already taken to heart. I sure hope this will qualify as a teaching blog that contributes to realizing all of these hopes.

All the details … and the predictions? Go read the post. Did I mention it’s wonderful?
